Artisanal weavers specializing in the production of exquisite, decorative fabrics for furnishings and curtains.
The great Venetian tradition of silk weaving is continued today by historic firms like this one, which still weaves its fabrics on 18th-century wooden looms to create precious velvets that are in great demand by several of the world’s most famous interior designers, among which the French designer Philippe Starck. He chose the Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua to cover walls of the local Michelin-starred restaurant Quadri. He used fabrics featuring modern, creative patterns handmade by Bevilacqua’s artisans, punctuated by a collection of paintings depicting the faces of the Alajmo brothers, who own the restaurant.
The establishment also uses velvet to create smaller items including exquisite clutches or decorative cushions.
The shop is open throughout the week, and you can also take a guided tour of its weaving workshop.
OUR TIP:
A unique place! Since 1875, the company has practiced the art of weaving on original looms that once belonged to the Venetian School of Silk.
