NEW OPENING
Global Blue has opened the door of its first VAT refund office for non-EU citizens at Venice's Marco Polo Airport
The departure area on the first floor of Marco Polo Airport in Venice hosts the brand-new Global Blue Tax Refund Office, where international guests with non-EU passport can receive the VAT refund. The office can be found under the banner ‘Punto Rimborso’ (the Italian name for refund office) and is open daily from 6am to 10pm. Worldwide visitors can ask for VAT refund with cash, through credit card and Alipay, though a refund through WeChat will soon be introduced.
What is VAT?
VAT (in Italian: IVA) is a value-added tax on goods and services and is part of the European Union’s value added tax system. In some cases, travellers may be granted a VAT refund. This refund does not cover the services supplied by hotels, restaurants, taxis or agencies.
