The Feast of the Sensa, Festa delle Sensa in Italian, is a well-known celebration born with the aim of reviving the long-lasting history of the Serenissima, featuring different events-within-the-event ranging from male and female regattas, spectacular water parades and kite shows. The shows are followed by the characteristic Sensa Dinner, featuring a selection of typical delicacies. The event culminates with important celebrations such as The Marriage with the Sea, a propitious celebration inspired by the past, and the Holy Mass celebrated at the Church of S. Nicolò, at the nearby Lido.
On 1 June, at 5pm – Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace), sala dello Scrutino – upon invitation only
Adriatic Twinning ceremony with the Adriatic Cities of Croatia and award ceremony for the ‘Osella d’oro della Sensa 2019′. (The osella is a precious coin given to institutions, private and public associations that have increased the prestige of Venice).
On 2 June
9am – Boats gather in St. Mark’s Basin
9.30am – Boast depart towards S. Nicolò di Lido
10.30am – Marriage of the Sea
11am – Performance by the Coro Serenissima in front of the Church of San Nicolò at the Lido
11.30am – Holy Mass at the Church of San Nicolò at the Lido

Celebrations on 2 June start at 9am until 11.30am
Events are held between sestiere San Marco and the Lido of Venice.
Boats depart from St.Mark’s Basin and reach the Church of San Nicolò at the Lido.
