“Dancing with Myself” is a collective of artworks brought to Venice at Punta della Dogana, in the sestiere of Dorsoduro, by the Pinault Collection and the Folkwang Museum in Essen. The exhibition features more than 130 artworks focused on the primordial importance of the artist’s role as actor and material of his own creations.
Art pieces of photography, painting, installations, video, and sculpture, the show brings together different languages, cultures, and experiences from artists such as Claude Cahun, La Toy, Gilbert & George, Maurizio Cattelan, and Cindy Sherman. An exposition that revolves around the themes of Melancholia, Raw Material, Identity Games, and Political Autobiographies.
